My design guideline... My Services My Passions My Credentials This Website
My credentials:Unlike other students, i declared my major freshman year of college. I knew i would need to know all about business, to hopefully one day open a business of my own. After three years at plymouth state university, i realized i had enough of a foundation but needed much more creativity. I was taking life drawing classes as well while minoring in art history and even worked in the ceramics department but i still wanted more. I was home for the holidays when i decided to enroll at the antonelli institute of art and photography in order to combine both worlds. I found my true passion, which had me drafting up a storm creating interiors and finally feeling in my element, which i still enjoy to this day. After school, the very first apartment i chose was completely gutted when i first saw the place! Obviously, this would be my first residential project i ever worked on other than when i was in school. So, my new roommate, get this-just so happened to be an experienced master carpenter! This made me learn things first hand and it launched me right out of the gate. After we completed our charming brownstone in beautiful boston, in my spare time, i painted a mural of the skyline of boston, at night, by the water. That was an intricate project because it was in an interior alcove of one of our favorite italian restaurants, almafi's, which hosted the boston symphony crowds! I had transfered within the company i was working for to have some income but i soon got my first internship at steelcase, one of the largest commercial furniture manufacturer's in the world! I worked for them for years, which had me updating surface materials libraries all over the city at hundreds of design firms! I soon found myself as an administrator at steelcase and helping steelcase design partnership opening their showroom in the boston design center, where i later worked at for brunschwig & fils. After i had enough of the city life, i returned home to new hampshire to settle down around my family. Luckily, home depot came to town and i was able open the store and work for them full time as a design consultant. Now, no matter what the space, it is the best feeling to see people interact ergonomically in a space you have designed yourself! I believe that in order to be a good designer, you have to specifically design spaces with everyone in mind. Weather it be commercial or residential, the owners should feel it expresses their individual personalities as well as appeal to most of the masses. Above all, form must follow function but sometimes you can break the rules, within limits, especially when it is custom made!
